Blue & Black Marlin Fishing Lures & Baits:

Developed in Costa Rica, the “Bait and Switch” tactic makes for one of the best strikes in all of fishing. The main methods use artificial lures, rigged natural baits, or live bait. Larger baits and slightly bigger teaser with different colors are good to have. One of my favorites is a lure called Marlin Candy made by Black Bart Lure Company.

Costa Rica Marlin Fishing Techniques:

Most good crews have a large pitch bait, possibly a big mackerel to offer the Marlin ready and waiting in the fish cooler, as these guys are big eaters and prefer larger baits. They will take a ballyhoo but it is nicer to get these fish on heavy tackle. Having a Marlin fishing rig ready, is the best way to catch these large fish.
