The current stopped and hasn't quite recovered yet, however Brian first brought in a nice 45 lb. Dorado, then jumped off a Blue Marlin and later in the day released a Sailfish. These were the biggest fish he ever caught, so he was stoked and had a great trip. July 23 The Jack Heller group headed out for their final day offshore and were very pleased to have released 4 Sailfish today where the day before July 22 they raised and released 1 Sailfish.

July 21 Well our offshore clients Bob Sigler catching nice roosters this morning total of 3 plus a very nice Jack Crevalle with the largest being a huge 70 lb. Quepos Roosterfish ! David Gavin and his kids all returned with a great day out at the Furuno with the Release of 1 Sailfish, 2 Dorado, 2 Amberjacks, 1 Grouper and 1 Red Snapper so offshore action has really stayed consistent through the month of July and lets hope it stays that way. July 20 Lawrence Lessing headed offshore for a half day of fishing action with his 4 and 6 year old who had a ball with dad catching a bunch of Amberjack. With a marlin taking a good look at what the boat had on the menue but not staying for lunch.

July 13 Clients Bradley Conviser, David Day and Lee Dillingham after having tracked me down at the new Marina Pez Vela and very anxious to go fishing after reading the reports for last few days headed out with our crew hoping to have that same fishing as days past. They were quite pleased with the action after having 4 Amberjacks, 2 Red Snapper and released 2 Sailfish! Nice day for their last minute decision. July 12 Wes Schuler after returning 4 years later to Quepos headed out after such promising reports, however someone didn't feel so well when they got out to the fishing grounds so they made the decision to return. Sorry we didn't get a chance to see what they could do today.

July 8 Wow, Wow, Wow, Fishing here in Quepos has been great. I came down this week in the hopes of landing my 2010 Marlin. Wells Folks wishes can come true. As we headed offshore on Thursday morning with Capt. Franklin at the helm, his plan after fishing the 26 two days before felt that the bite might be a bit further South. We headed to the Furuno to fish for live bait and bottom fish at an undisclosed point there. This is where the action started! All the lines started going first on was Randall with a beautiful Amberjack followed up with another Amberjack for Leanne, Sam followed with a Red Snapper, followed by a blue runner then 2 more Amberjacks, 2 Roosters another Snapper and Blue Runner, I gotta tell ya, there was so much going on, we had such fun and it was only 10 am we headed out a bit to 35 miles offshore when we had a estimated 700 lb Black Marlin on the bait, however he broke off. I say that my three favorite words are the captain yelling the magic words MARLIN! MARLIN! MARLIN! and just as Dempsey 1st mate handed me a sandwich around lunchtime those Magic words came bellowing down from above, This was it, I was in the chair as this magnificent Blue Marlin danced across the water. It was 28 minutes to get him close when he shot out of the water just 8 meters from the boat. Talk about a breathtaking moment as he boasted his Mad Marlin Face and incredible colors. Total of 30 minutes to the Leader for the release of the 300 lb. Blue Marlin. As I am still running on the adrenaline rush we followed this by the release of another 2 Sailfish. Really an incredible day Total numbers for day 4 Amberjacks, 2 Red Snapper, 2 Blue Runners, 2 Roosterfish, 2 Sailfish and 2 Marlin Raised and 1 Release.

July 3Ned Davenport headed offshore with Captain Jose and returned with delighted Children after having landed a massive Bull Dorado for Dinner Ben Hayes spent a full day Offshore with Captain Franklin and the release of one Sail and his wife with dinner of a Yellow fin Tuna. July 2 Mike Holt and his buddy"s 4th day offshore fishing 36 miles out with Quepos Sailfishing charters was a dandy. Had 3 sails to the boat and release 2 they said they where worn out from the 4 days but had a blast. Will see them again for sure.

July 1 Mike Holt headed out today for his third day offshore and again had a tangle with what the captain estimated to be a Marlin 450 lbs who showed some amazing aerial displays but eventually broke off. They finished out the day with the release of 2 Sailfish. One more day to experience the terrific fishing here in Costa Rica. Clients Paige Ross and her husband that headed out with Captain Olman and spent 3 1/2 hours fighting with A 300 lb.Shark pictured below while fishing for big Snappers and they also had some Amberjacks.
